June’s interest in the arts took her initially into the dance world until, in her 60s she began oil painting, focusing on atmospheric landscapes and seascapes in an impressionist/realist style. She finds impressionism a challenge - each canvas presenting another opportunity to try to capture the magical effect of light and atmosphere on our world.
Recently June has found herself drawn to exploring figurative work in a more contemporary style – in both painting and charcoal drawing.
She loves her light-filled studio overlooking duckpond and paddocks, with forest as a backdrop. A perfect artist’s hideaway.
